Maria Ramirez is a third-year Bachelor of Education student from Mount Royal University with a life-long aspiration of becoming a Junior High mathematics teacher, or even an Education professor. She has been tutoring for years, with levels ranging from grade one to grade nine. She has worked one-on-one with children with disabilities, taught ice skating to children, been a leader at an After School and a summer program, and volunteered in several different elementary classrooms. She can speak Spanish, French and English fluently, meaning she is able to help students in those three languages, and she is also quite skilled in Elementary and Junior High mathematics, social studies, and science (the first being her best subject). At MRU, she is minoring in both Spanish and Math.
Zain Javaid is a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student at University of Calgary. He started tutoring his younger brother and sister about 4 years ago as a help with their home work and then joined EducationWise in April 2014 which helped him a lot in building his confidence as a tutor. He always makes sure his students learn the basic concepts and do a lot of practice which is a key to success in exams.
Diana has a B.Sc. in physics and pure math, an M.Sc. in physics, and has taught for many years in the undergrad physics labs at the U of C. She is a mature tutor with a passion for science and can often be found giving science presentations at local elementary schools. Diana’s other love is music; she sings in her church choir and plays chamber music with friends. An outdoor enthusiast, she often takes advantage of living close to the mountains, by going hiking and cross-country skiing and would have a lovely garden if it weren’t for her two black thumbs! Cuddling with her cats and cooking delicious meals for her family keeps her happy as does her serious addiction to chocolate.
